Comment / You don't often see lighting conditions as good as this! G-BUSK arrives on runway 25 from London Heathrow. Unlike some of her older A320 colleagues in the BA fleet, Sierra Kilo has almost another year left in service to look forward to, with her retirement not due until September 2008.

Comment / It's 2058 and it's still just about possible to catch the Israir flight whilst the sun's still up...

Comment / A particularly smart scheme which looks even better in the bright dusk sunlight!

Comment / Seconds after lifting off from runway 25 en route to Alicante, with the dip in Newcastle's runway clearly visible! The strip is currently only 2329m long, although recent reports suggest that advanced plans are currently under consideration for an extension of 360m to the 25 end.

Comment / One in, one out. BA chopped their Gatwick route at the end of the last winter season, leaving just the Shuttle service to Heathrow as their only presence at Newcastle. Here, as an A320 service from Heathrow arrives, Boeing 757 G-BPEK lines up in the background for a departure back to London.

Comment / Jetting away from runway 25 for the short hop over to Dublin.

Comment / Exactly 13 years and 4 days before this photo was taken, G-OZBB was delivered to Monarch along this very same stretch of tarmac. Although first flying in November 1992, she first arrived at Luton on the 22nd March 1994 along with sister ship G-OZBA (now flying in warmer climes with Air Jamaica).

Comment / Making a very welcome visit from Rome today was one of the two new Israir Airbus A320s, YL-LCB, leased from LAT Charter. Israir are regulars at Stansted, but normally only in the hours of darkness. So to bag an A320 (and the only one painted up in the Israir colours at that) in daylight wasn't bad at all!
